Acupuncture Case Studies

Here is a list of some case studies I have prepared as a resource for other practitioners and students. Some technical knowledge is assumed, but care has been taken to make them readable and, hopefully, interesting. The terms and tests mentioned should be easily found in relevant texts if they are unfamiliar. Conjunctivitis treatment
This case study shows how I treated a clients' conjunctivitis in terms of the clinical background of her long standing conditions already under treatment.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome treatment
This case study examines the treatment of a person with IBS and some other issues, discussing diagnosis and treatment formulation.

Scoliosis treatment
This case study explains how I integrated bodywork techniques with traditional acupuncture to treat and help deal with chronic back pain in a scoliotic woman.

Knee Pain treatment
This case study looks at the treatment of chronic knee pain in a young woman with a discussion of TCM diagnosis with anatomical and structural priciples.

This case study demonstrates an approach to treating plantar fasciitis- pain on the sole of the foot- using acupuncture and bodywork.

Sacro Iliac Joint Pain Treatment
This case study is of a very successful treatment of sacroiliac pain and dysfunction- a type of lower back pain- using acupuncture informed by myofascial anatomy.

Menorrhagia and PMS treatment
This case study critically evaluates the long term treatment of a woman with excessive menstrual bleeding and severe pre menstrual mood swings.

Sciatica treatment
This case study Looks at how I integrated the use of bodywork techniques with Acupuncture to help a man with slipped discs and 10 years lower back and sciatic pain.
